Living In Peace and Joy
"All we are is peace, love and wisdom,
and the power to create the illusion that we are not."
(Jack Pransky)
My Story
Who am I? Here’s my “story.”
I was born and lived for most of my childhood in a small college town in Kentucky. My childhood was filled with school, farm duties, chickens, pony, cow, goat, and a dog… and yet plenty of time for play, climbing trees and riding a bike.
Unlike so many who have had serious physical and emotional life threatening challenges to overcome, looking back I think I had a fairly easy childhood. I had a happy life, loving family, two great sisters, with friends, good health and a passion for sports and later a successful career. What more could you want?
On the outside, I appeared to be a successful, happy, nice guy but on the inside, I often felt inadequate and insecure with feelings of “I’m not good enough” and “Something is wrong with me.” Despite my success in sports and school, these feelings of inadequacy followed me into adulthood.
Seeking to understand myself better and pursue my interest in psychology, religion, and spirituality, at the age of 28 I switched from a career in Mathematics and got a PhD in Psychology at UCLA. I then enjoyed over 45 years of helping people find a better life.
Looking back, one of the most important turning points in my career was meeting Sydney Banks in 1983. His two profound insights really impacted me…
1. It is our “thinking” which creates the reality we live in... NOT the circumstances. We are experiencing our thoughts... 100% of the time.
2. There is happiness, love, and peace of mind inherent within everyone.
This takes the struggle out of living. Realizing this is like “coming home” to who we truly are. I enjoy helping people find their way back to their natural essence… where there is peace of mind, happiness and joy… the feeling we like to call… “Home.”
What Others Have Said:
He is the ultimate therapist with a unique heart. His presence brings forth the essence of others who realize they are safe with this compassionate, authentic, and humble man. His awarenesss is inspiring. His passionate pointing to consciousness stirs each person toward their own sense of knowing.
“If everyone could see how beautiful they are inside
their problems would be over.”
(Sydney Banks)
“Bill has had a profound influence on me and opened my eyes to a new way of understanding life and how the mind works. He has a unique way of connecting with people. He helped me to see the good, the essential, the loving essence in everyone. In this sense, “He is a guide and fellow explorer into my inner soul… sharing through his example and with humility… allowing my insights to do the teaching.”
(Tom Kando, PhD, Professor of Sociology Emeritus at California State University, Sacramento; Author)
"Bill is filled with joy and feelings of gratitude for life. You can't help but be lifted up in his presence and invited to explore your own good feelings from his coaching. I have had the pleasure of experiencing this quality of Bill for many years—even before we discovered the 3 Principles. I think a good URL for Bill would be, “Feel-good-coaching.com.”
(Jane Nelsen, EdD, Educator, Author, Inspirational Speaker)
"Wow. What miracles a few moments of consciousness and kindness can bring! I started the process feeling as stuck and hopeless as a human being can be. I was guided through a spontaneous journey of acceptance and inquiry and letting go, and everything transformed in an instant! It was like a door that suddenly opened, and everything I was trying so hard to push away became my greatest well-wisher and healer. What a beautiful and simple process! Thank you… thank you."
(R.E.W.)
“Powerful! Wonderful! Perfect! That was one of the most special and extraordinary moments of my lifetime,…with Bill holding the space of acceptance and love while I opened to the present moment of overwhelming fear and stress.
Wow! I am humbled at the depth of what came forth… effortlessly. It seemed like a magic door suddenly and quietly opened, and a very familiar and ancient feeling washed through me. Precious and ecstatic! I am so grateful for the experience... one that I will hold dear for my lifetime.” Robin, Previous Resident at Kripalu Ashram
"It's not too dramatic to state that working with Bill has completely changed the way I think. Bill has given me the tools to live my life from the inside-out and not be a victim of (or even believe!) my negative thinking. His kind, gentle and insightful approach is a great fit for novice as well as seasoned seekers of peace of mind."
(Sandi Miller, MS, School Psychologist)
"I have known Bill for over 40 years as a colleague, friend, and mentor. His ability to stay centered, provide fresh and unique perspective, invariably takes me down the road of clarity and self-acceptance.
Practical and simple, his principles and methods provide an awareness of how thoughts create our reality while at the same time reminding and pointing us toward the mental health and happiness inherent within everyone."(Ken Hood, PhD. Clinical Psychologist)
"Bill has a love of life, a compassion for human relationships, and the experience and deep understanding that can be that catalyst for innovation and transformation for whatever you are dealing with in your life."
(Doug Fannin, BA, MS in Education, Peace Corps Korea)
"Bill provides a safe space with whatever “story” or feeling I may be having… stressed, depression, anxiety, shame. His accepting attitude and relentless attention to the present moment consistently reminds me that
'I am not my thoughts or feelings but pure potentiality.' His playful and sincere attitude is very infectious and consistently points me to the Universal Truth, “We are all fundamentally OK and mentally healthy at our core.”(Bill Wing, LCSW, The Relationship Center of St. Louis.)
“Having a conversation with Bill is just so incredibly special. He shows up with the most beautiful humility which touches me so deeply and is able to give the space and encouragement for me to be who I truly am. His energy is so accepting and loving, he has an innate calm peaceful presence that I can’t quite find the words for. During conversations with Bill, I find it literally impossible NOT to fall into a beautiful peaceful space that I call “home.” I’m just so thankful that this beautiful journey has connected me to him.”
(Jo Persse, M.S. Certified Coach)
"Bill is a treasure! He is the ultimate therapist with a unique heart. His presence brings forth the essence of others who realize they are safe with this compassionate, authentic, and humble man. His awareness is inspiring. His passionate pointing to consciousness stirs each person toward their own sense of knowing. Brilliant!"
(Linda Wing, LCSW, Relationship Center of St Louis)
"To thoroughly describe how much your guiding has helped me would take many pages. You have such a wise, gentle and thoughtful way of leading me to the discovery of the knowledge that lies in myself. You never tell me what to do. You always help me to find my own answers within myself. I am deeply grateful for each one of our meetings. Every time feels like a sanctuary for the mind, where thoughts can roam freely, without judgment and rejection. Thank you from my heart for all you do!"
(Christoph, Sweden)
"Bill, I am deeply grateful for the support and kindness you have shown me since my fathers passing. My inner-wisdom has made me aware of a confident peace that has always been present and leaves me in awe of the beauty that constantly surrounds me. I am excited and curious about all that is around me and look forward to sharing more of it with you."
(Brian)“Bill is like a teacher who asks lots and lots of questions. But what I discovered was that, “I had all the answers.” It really helped dealing with my grief over losing my Dad.” (A.G.)
“I knew one day when I was feeling very anxious and triggered by some recent events that Bill would be the perfect person to speak with. The quality of his listening is exceptionally deep, and you feel it is coming from a place of absolute acceptance and love. As helpful as his gentle questions and observations are, his attuned presence is just as calming and healing.” (Christine Robertson)
How Can I Help You
I remind people that there is within everyone mental health, peace of mind, and happiness.
I help people understand how the personal mind works... for and against us. We are "thinking" all the time and like fish in water, we live in a world of thoughts. It is our thoughts, from the “inside-out”, not the outside world and circumstances, which create our moment-by-moment experience in life.
When we suffer, it is simply because of the thoughts we are believing and our feelings take us out of the healing and exciting power of "Now". We are naturally resilient and as a cork rises in water... there is a natural essence of resilience and well-being in everyone of us.
How to Reach Me.
I have enjoyed helping people for many years and am always learning to improve my skills and deepening my appreciation of how the mind works along with the understanding that "we are spiritual beings having a physical experience."
